Dear Readers
Before all, I seize the opportunity of this very first e-newsletter of the year
2016 to wish you a healthy and happy year 2016.
As usual, this year will be full of thrilling events which we all long for! The
FCI World Dog Show will take place in Moscow and the different FCI Section Shows
will be held in Brussels (FCI European Section Show), Bogota (FCI Americas and Caribbean
Section Show) and Jakarta (FCI Asia and Pacific Section Show).
Beauty, conformation events are of course essential. However, let’s do not forget
how important sporting/hunting/working/racing events are too for our dogs to keep
their working abilities.
Our working dogs will also be in the highlights on different prestigious occasions:
the FCI European Cup for British Pointers will be organised by Switzerland in Serbia;
that country will also host the FCI European Cup for Continental Pointers. The
sighthounds will have a great chance to show their capacities on the occasion of
the FCI World Racing Championship in Toulouse (France) and FCI European Coursing
Championship organised by our Slovak friends in Vel’ké Pole. In addition, the Earth
dogs will perform on the occasion of the FCI European Cup-Multiple Trials Event
in Czech Republic. Let’s do not forget the Utility dogs! They will also be given
the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in different fields: the FCI IPO World
Championship for Tracking Dogs will be held in Mukacheve (Ukraine) and spectators
will be welcome to attend also the FCI IPO World Championship for Utility Dogs in
Nova Gorica (Slovenia). The first ever FCI-recognised World Mondioring will be
organised in Belgium, in Herve. Finally, the much appreciated FCI Agility World
Championship will be conducted in Zaragoza (Spain) while the FCI Obedience World
Championship will be run in Moscow.
As you can see, a heavy sporting and showing season is ahead of us and we look forward
to welcoming you and/or your dogs to these competitions, as well as at all our international
shows and trials.
All details are available on our website, http://www.fci.be or on the different
organisers’ website.
Best regards,
Yves De Clercq
