Fédération Cynologique Internationale: turning statistics into stories

It is well known that statistics can tell all kinds of stories; it is all about approach, context and interpretation. However, the fact remains that, as a new year starts, the statistics we're presenting to you are objective figures which aren't open to multiple interpretations.

The revamped FCI website was launched in August 2014 and it is still thrilling to monitor our traffic indicators!

It was in 2006 when we founded KIF, Köpek Irkları ve Kinoloji Federasyonu, in other words, the Turkish canine organisation. Our aim has always been to develop the welfare of dogs in Turkey and create a reliable stud book system and let our local breeds to be recognised by the FCI.

Tellington Touch - The touch that moves

Linda Tellington Jones developed the Tellington method more than 30 years ago through her work with horses. This method is now not only applied to horses, but also to all other animals – and, as from a few years ago, even to people.

On 21 December 2015 in Vilnius, Lithuania, the Lithuanian Kennel Club hosted a full-day international workshop entitled “A Dog Loving Society: Best Practices, Challenges and Perspectives”.

On 30-31 January, 2016, the FCI Judges and Dog Shows Commissions met, first separately, then jointly. The meetings took place in Cebu (Philippines), in the framework of an international dog show organised there and one week after the « Philippine Circuit » in Manila.

FCI meets CKU in Manila

On January 25^th 2016, the FCI President, Mr Rafael de Santiago, and the FCI Executive Director, Mr Yves De Clercq, met with the China Kennel Union Secretary General, Mr Tim Xie, and the PR CKU Manager, Mr. Howard Zhang, at the Philippines CIRCUIT 2016 Dog Show in Manila.

FCI Worlwide (1922-2011)

In 1931, in Paris, the Baron Houtart gives an excellent speech, summarising 10 years of history of the FCI since it was recreated in 1921. We found it interesting to publish part of it.
