Before all, I seize the opportunity of this very first e-newsletter of the year 2016 to wish you a healthy and happy year 2016.

As usual, this year will be full of thrilling events which we all long for! The FCI World Dog Show will take place in Moscow and the different FCI Section Shows will be held in Brussels (FCI European Section Show), Bogota (FCI Americas and Caribbean Section Show) and Jakarta (FCI Asia and Pacific Section Show).

In memoriam

Please be informed that Mr Bo Jonsson passed away on January 5th, at the age of 89. Mr Jonsson was a member of Svenska Kennelklubben, SKK, since 1945. He was also member of the SKK board during the 70ies, as a vice chairman, and served as a member of the SKK Show Committee as well. In the 70ies, during five years, he was the chairman of Svenska Brukshundklubben and later become an honorary member.

He had a great interest in competitions and his greatest achievement was within the obedience field where he participated to develop obedience tests and competitions, both nationally and internationally. Between 1985 and 1999, he was the President of the FCI Obedience Commission, the foundation of which he strongly influenced. He worked to promote Obedience World Championship competitions and to eventually have the Obedience sport spread to become worldwide.
